Biography of Andrew Price

Andrew Price PhotoAndrew Price Has a long term interest in wine and education. Whilst studying for an MA in Agricultural History he became interested in English vineyards and the resurgence of English Wine.

Andrew has always had a great interest in Italy and tries to spend a lot of time both in Tuscany and throughout Italy. Andrew started to teach about Italian wine and culture from 1996 and is an acknowledged expert on this topic.

Andrew also decided to improve on his knowledge of International wines and this led him to study for qualifications with WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) in London and international qualifications in the USA, Italy and France.

Andrew has also trained in Spirits and is therefore highly qualified to teach and consult on wines and spirits from around the world.

Andrew has a background in history and has taught for Gyosei University from Japan and Reading University in England. Andrew has also recently had the great honour of being asked to do some teaching for Oxford University.

With this background in history, he also teaches about wine from both a historical and a cultural background.  This is unique compared to people who only compare taste of flavour profiles etc.

Andrew also has a strong interest in Asia and is happy to give tastings of Japanese and Korean traditional beverages and culture.

Andrew attends trade tastings every week to keep up to date on wines and wine regions throughout the world.

Andrew is also interested in Organic and what are often called natural wines. Please contact him for such events and tastings also.
